This tele extender can be used with fixed focal length lenses 135mm and longer (except the 135mm f/2.8 Softfocus lens), and the EF 70-200 f/2.8L, 70-200 f/2.8L IS, 70-200 f/4.0L, and 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS zoom lenses. Superb optically, it preserves the image quality of the lens it's mounted to and multiplies its focal length 1.4x.
A good 1.4x teleconverter, when used with a Canon L 300mm f/2.8 or 300mm f/4, can outperform a good (but not great) 400mm telephoto such as the Sigma APO (not the APO macro version) lens. The 300 + 1.4 TC combination also roughly equals the performance of a 400mm Canon L f/5.6 lens. FF is of course more expensive, but the price differential
Wondering to get either a 1.4 or a 2X extender with the Rf 100-500 lens. Two concerns, one is a lot of wildlife photography is in lower lighting conditions and the 2X drops it to 11/14. Also, was surprised to see that the extender only works 300-500mm (not 1-299mm). Anyone have any experience with t
That Kenko 1.4x works well with my 7D II and 100-400 II. Since Dave says it works, you'll be fine. The IQ of the Kenko converter is good, the Canon may be a tick better but that's splitting hairs. One advantage should be the additional focus points. From Canon's product page for the RF 1.4X extender: Note: This extender is only compatible with the following RF lenses RF100-400mm F5.6-8 IS USM, RF100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM, RF400mm F2.8 L IS USM, RF600mm F4 L IS USM, RF600mm F11 IS STM, RF800 F5.6 L IS USM, RF800mm F11 IS STM, RF1200mm F8 L IS Extending the effective focal length of select Sony E-mount telephoto lenses, the FE 1.4x Teleconverter increases the lens's magnification by 1.4x for a narrower field of view. The dedicated design maintains full communication between the lens and E-mount mirrorless cameras, including auto-exposure metering, autofocus, and Optical SteadyShot

The T CINE Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x Adapter from Metabones allows a Canon EF-mount lens to be mounted onto a camera with a FUJIFILM X-mount. The adapter's optics maximize the connected lens's apparent angle of view by a factor of 0.71x while providing a one-stop increase for the camera over the lens's aperture range. More Details. mjmI9X.
