Loosen the bolt on the timing belt tensioner and remove both bolt and tensioner, followed by the timing belt. Replace the idler with the new one from the Dayco kit KTBWP4930 and tighten the nut to 35Nm. Using another suitable pin, hold the fuel injection pump pulley in the correct position and then remove the water pump.

At the end ofPosted September 8, 2010. A timing belt is the same as a cam belt, and according to ford should be changed at 100,000 MILES or 10 years. HAYNES however recommend that the belt should be changed at 70,000 miles because if the belt snaps it will most likely cause catastrophic engine failure.Hi, I have a 2008 Mondeo Titanium X with the 2.0 145 duratec, it's done 46,000 miles with a full Ford service history.. I know it has a timing chain but I cannot find any information in owners manual on when it's recommended to be changed or inspected, I know it is quite low mileage but it is just over 7 years old now. I have been told by my garage that it’s advisable to change the cam belt on my 2015 Ford Fiesta EcoBoost but it has only done 45,000 miles. Is this advice correct? Unless there is a problem with the engine or belt, this is incorrect. The 1.0 EcoBoost uses a wet belt system that runs the belt in oil and allows it to operate up to 10 years or FoXg.
